Biography
David Maginley is a photographer, author, and professional noticer of things most people walk past.
After 25 years as a hospital chaplain—where he spent his days accompanying people through life’s hardest moments—he developed a deep appreciation for what really matters… and also for good lighting, interesting textures, and the quiet drama of ordinary scenes. His photography reflects that same instinct: to pause, look again, and find meaning where others might not think to look.
He is the award-winning author of Early Exits and Beyond Surviving, though he promises not to analyze your existential distress unless specifically invited.
When not writing, speaking, or gently encouraging people to contemplate the nature of reality, David can often be found with a camera in hand, capturing moments that sit somewhere between stillness and story.
If his photos make you slow down, look closer, or feel something you can’t quite name—he considers that a success.
